Talking about New Economic Opportunities in China | Chinese and German Perspectives Looking Forward to Strengthening Logistics Cooperation between China and Europe

Duisburg, Germany, September 22 (Xinhua) - The 2023 New Silk Road Logistics Forum was held in Duisburg, Germany on the 21st. Attendees expressed that the scope and potential of logistics cooperation between China and Europe are broad, and there is room for further expansion.


Du Chunguo, Consul General of China in Dusseldorf, delivered a speech at the forum, saying that more than 3000 cooperation projects have been formed since the "the Belt and Road" initiative was put forward ten years ago, which has boosted the investment scale of nearly trillion dollars, created 420000 jobs for the co built countries, and strongly promoted global common development. He said that the improvement of logistics infrastructure and services between China, Germany, and China Europe will inject lasting momentum into mutually beneficial cooperation.


Zelen Link, the Mayor of Duisburg, Germany, said that despite facing some uncertainties, the demand for logistics between China and Europe is still high. Duisburg hopes to maintain and strengthen contacts with China and establish more communication bridges.


Zhou Shulin, the chief supervisor of Chongqing Xinou (Chongqing) Logistics Co., Ltd., said that the operation of Chongqing Xinou Express has built a bridge between the economic ties and cultural exchanges between China's inland cities and the countries jointly building the "the Belt and Road". He expressed his hope to make good use of the advantages of Chongqing's transportation hub agglomeration, promote the deep integration and development of transportation, logistics, commerce and industry in the Asia Europe region, and achieve a virtuous cycle of "corridor logistics, logistics, economy and trade, and economic and trade industries".


Las Nanhaus, Chief Operating Officer of Duisburg Port Group, stated that the prospects for logistics cooperation between China and Europe are bright, and he hopes to further deepen cooperation with China. Marcel Stein, CEO of German Trains Operation Co., Ltd., said that the "the Belt and Road" connects China and Europe and promotes economic development. He hoped that in the future, China Europe logistics cooperation can achieve more new results.


This forum is organized under the guidance of the Chinese Consulate General in Dusseldorf, and hosted by Chongqing Xinou (Chongqing) Logistics Co., Ltd. and China International Investment Promotion Center (Germany). The forum invited nearly 200 internationally renowned operators of the China Europe freight train, as well as representatives of Chinese and German merchants, to attend.
