The seminar focused on quickly overcoming the shortcomings and weaknesses of China's auto industry chain, facilitating smooth flows of upstream and downstream supply and demand information, improving enterprise supply chain management, and strengthening supply chain security and stability, offering useful opinions and suggestions on the predictions concerning the supply chain and keeping the chain unhindered and in good control. The guests held in-depth discussions on how to accelerate the construction of the auto industry chain, promote the construction of Sino-German industrial cooperation, address the challenges facing the auto industry chain, create a safe and stable ecosystem of the intelligent connected vehicle industry, and how to enhance the resilience of the industry chain.

In the themed discussion session, Feng Shuo, director of the Intelligent Connected Vehicle Center of Beijing Automotive Technology Center (GATC), said that the shortage of chips is the biggest challenge for car enterprises at present. "In the past two years, the BATC has gradually made the development of the software independent from that of the hardware, and started independent research and development of intelligent driving system,” said Feng. “Among others, the chip plays a major role in making breakthroughs in developing the braking system of the chassis, and the domestic chip enterprises have offered great help to car enterprises."

Leaders and guests attending the conference visited key projects in Beijing China-Germany Industrial Park. Since its approval by the National Development and Reform Commission in June 2021, the Industrial Park has constantly improved the efficiency of its management committee, and as an important window for opening up, planned development of overseas spaces and built a team of German members. It has offered an extended 150,000 square meters of construction area for the building of the phase two of China-German Plaza. Giving the demonstration effect of the 2022 Beijing China-Germany Forum for Industrial Cooperation and Development full play, the Industrial Park has gathered cooperation resources such as enterprises at the Hannover Messe, promoted the implementation of its "Three-Year Action Plan" and "Three Lists" of project, policy and reform, and established the "international meeting room, international service hall and achievement exhibition hall". Over the past year, the Industrial Park has gathered 83 German-invested enterprises including Mercedes-Benz and BMW with a total investment of 4.5 billion euros and an annual output value of 30 billion yuan. It exemplifies the vivid practice of “Mutual Development and Achievement for Both” in terms of economy and technology for China and Germany.
