CEOs from both China and German automotive industry chain gathered to discuss new paths for industrial upgrading and share new experience in industrial practice. It was highly professional and influential.
Both online and offline meeting were held. It built a high-end dialogue platform for Chinese and German auto industries to promote exchanges, enhance mutual learning, and seek win-win cooperation. It has also opened a new chapter in the auto industry cooperation between China and Germany.
The forum has helped speed up the construction of the "two zones" in Shunyi, promote international industrial cooperation and exchanges between Chinese and German auto industries. With the support of the National Development and Reform Commission and Beijing Municipal Government, Shunyi has been promoting the construction of the Beijing China-Germany Industrial Park. Relying on the industrial park to carry out high-level economic and technological cooperation with Germany, it will create favorable conditions for German enterprises and institutions to invest in Shunyi district and grow rapidly.
There are over 70 German enterprises in Shunyi. The enterprises have not only brought obvious benefits such as employment and revenue, but also had a profound impact on local enterprises in terms of development model, business philosophy and advanced technology. Nearly 100 local enterprises in Shunyi have cooperated with German enterprises in various forms such as industrial support, technology transfer, joint research and development, and human capital. It has formed a development pattern integrating "Shunyi-style" and "German-style”, serving as a demonstration zone for high-end, distinctive and international economic and technological cooperation.
As the automobile industry district in the capital, over the years, based on manufacturing complete vehicles and core components, Shunyi has formed an industrial ecology led by R&D and design, auto finance, auto sales, shared travel, and automatic drive. The district has gathered five vehicle manufacturers such as Beijing Benz New Energy, Beijing Hyundai, BAIC SUV, Li Auto, and BEE Special Equipment Vehicle, as well as nine R&D design companies including BAIC R&D Headquarters, BMW R&D Center, and Li Auto R&D Headquarters. The National Automobile Quality Supervision and Inspection Center (Beijing) is also located in Shunyi, as well as over 150 core parts and components manufacturing enterprises.
Shunyi is the permanent site to hold the World Intelligent Connected Vehicle Conference. It has planned a 200-sq-km ecological demonstration area for intelligent and connected vehicles, and built the first phase of a 300-mu closed test field for automatic driving. It has gathered over 80 key enterprises of travel services, automatic driving, smart chips, sensors, radar, high-precision maps, cloud computing, and information security. It has built the first intelligent connected car driving town in China, and deployed a high-level car networking system. The open road for automatic driving will reach 700 kilometers.
The Verband der Automobilindustrie (referred to as VDA) is an association composed of German car manufacturers and their partners and suppliers. It has more than 600 member companies around the world and is one of the most influential industry associations in the world. It has become an important platform to stimulate exchanges and cooperation of the auto industry between China and Germany.
In the future, Shunyi will keep up with the construction of Beijing China-Germany Industrial Park, further innovate policies, optimize supporting facilities, and enhance the comprehensive industrial carrying capacity. It will strengthen cooperation with well-known institutions like the German Association of the Automobile Manufacturers, build an international business environment to attract high value-added core parts and components manufacturers, and gradually build a new energy intelligent vehicle industry system featuring innovation, high level of industrialization, complete supporting facilities, and leading demonstration applications.
